Anesthesiologists who practice in chronic pain are very proficient in neurological and musculoskeletal exam techniques. Anesthesiologists in the administration of nerve blocks and other interventional techniques are incorporating a complete treatment plan with specialized knowledge of medications such as anticonvulsants, antidepressants and co-adjuvants. The anesthesiologist then can provide treatment plans aimed at rehabilitation and behavioural management.
