Ryan is a health care professional that holds dual qualifications. He holds designations as both a Registered Massage Therapist and a Certified Athletic Therapist. Ryan has experience working with athletes of all ages and dealing with the active population. Prior to joining Emkiro Health, he has worked in clinics dealing with orthopaedic surgeries and traumas as well as motor vehicle accident patients.
Ryan became a Registered Massage Therapist late in 2016 and is a member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. Prior to doing Massage Therapy, Ryan has been a Certified Athletic Therapist since 2009 and he belongs to both the Ontario Athletic Therapists Association and Canadian Athletic Therapists Association. Ryan experience outside of clinical work has been with local sports teams and sidelines with teams such as Ryerson’s Basketball team, Toronto Scottish Rugby Club, Toronto Jr Argos football team and currently works with North Halton Crimson Tide Football Association.
His educational experience has included Massage Therapy in the advanced standing program at Ontario College of Technology and Health, Athletic Therapy at Sheridan College and Kinesiology at University of Waterloo. Other courses and interests Ryan has taken courses such as soft tissue release, kinesiotaping and has a special interest in orthopaedic taping and bracing.
Ryan specializes in sports rehab, basic Swedish Massage techniques, trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage and exercise prescription. With his knowledge of injuries and manual techniques, he likes to get the individual back to their activities of daily living as quick as he can.
Outside of work, Ryan is a big sports fan and enjoys being active.
